The Bowes Museum

The Bowes Museum has very dedicated and hard-working staff in both education and outreach, who make the most of a unique collection and museum. The founders of the museum, John and Josephine Bowes would be proud of the work being done to enlarge the horizons of pupils and students. While their strengths lie in art and design and history, they can also cover technology, science and learning about a much wider world than is normally available in a local or regional museum. Their move towards engaging disadvantaged or marginalised audiences are to be especially applauded.
